Indirect cooling of hot rare earth oxides after calcination
Rare earth oxides (REO) leave the calcination process at elevated temperatures and require controlled cooling prior to storage, packaging or downstream handling. Efficient cooling is essential to protect product quality and ensure reliable continuous operation under demanding process conditions.
INGETECSA’s Multi Chamber Cooler is specifically suited for cooling hot calcined REO products under demanding operating conditions. The indirect cooling principle prevents contact between product and cooling water while allowing large temperature reductions in a single process step.
The Multi Chamber Cooler is an indirect rotary cooling system consisting of multiple internally cooled chambers. Hot REO product passes slowly through the cooler while cooling water circulates in a closed circuit separated from the product itself.
The design allows controlled and contamination-free cooling of hot rare earth oxides while minimising thermal stresses and reducing mechanical wear under abrasive operating conditions.
Rare earth oxide cooling applications generally involve:
The Multi Chamber Cooler has an excellent track record to operate in these demanding industrial environments.
